CYBER SECURITY
VIRTUAL REALITY
MINECRAFT
E-SAFETY

Breakout is an off-shoot of the popular ‘escape room’ model in which players must solve clues in order to open physical locks and/or unlock password-protected files. In this cyber-themed workshop, students must work together against the clock to prevent a 'simulated' cyber-attack by solving a series of cryptic clues.
Explore breath-taking scenery from around the world, gain an understanding of physics by flying a balloon into the stratosphere, explore the human body or experience the lunar landscape like never before. Immerse your students with a virtual tour where literally anything is possible!
It is well documented how using games in a classroom context can facilitate collaborative learning, promote problem-solving and stimulate an engaging learning environment. One popular game that epitomises this is Minecraft: Education Edition.
Invite your students to enter a world of pure imagination where they will also explore, amongst other themes, numeracy, literacy, computing, and science.
In this workshop, students must work together to solve a series of clues to reveal the true identity behind a fictitious online profile. By solving the clues, students will become aware of how easy it is for criminals to steal information from online profiles and learn how to protect their personal data when online themselves.
STOP ANIMATION
ROBOTICS
C.S.I
A.I

Stop-motion is an extremely accessible form of animation, for animators of all abilities and ages. Not only does it encourage creativity, it also fosters collaboration and critical thinking skills too.
This workshop provides all the technology and expertise to enable your students to create their own animated movies.
Learning to code can often be difficult for students to grasp, but when programming physical robots, students can experience the immediate impact of their code and so are more likely to identify errors in their program. We are able to offer a range of robotics workshops suitable for all ages and abilities, and should you have interest in purchasing robots for your classroom, we are also able to recommend the most suitable Robot for your situation. A variety of robots can be seen in our STEM Shop
C.S.I - Critical Thinking Skills Enter the world of Forensic Science! This increasingly popular workshop has proven a challenge for even the most gifted students. Working in small groups, teams are presented with a crime scene to investigate. Using mobile devices, students must forensically analyse the evidence and collaborate as a team to find the perpetrator of the crime.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays an integral part in our everyday lives; it’s just not always obvious where it’s being applied! In this workshop, students will explore the fundamentals of AI and machine learning through a series of hands-on activities which have been designed to test both their collaboration and computational thinking skills.

DRONE SCHOOL

With platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram gaining in popularity with younger audiences, it is imperative that we teach our students how to use these platforms safely and respectfully.
In this workshop, with e-safety at its core, students will learn how to use a wide variety of tools to create their own vlogs, podcasts or impactful images, suitable for social media.
Every child, no matter how young, should have the opportunity to learn how to code. Not only does it help nurture problem-solving skills, logic, and creativity, learning to code empowers young people to express themselves in a variety of cool ways!
Choose from either an introduction to coding, designed to demystify ‘code’ and show that anybody can learn the basics, or more advanced workshops designed to stretch and challenge your student´s abilities. Alternatively, we can tailor your experience based on your students' existing knowledge and skills.
The Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (iDEA), is an award-winning programme that is designed to help young people develop and demonstrate their digital, enterprise and employability skills.
During this workshop, students will be enrolled on the programme and helped towards their first badges. Tablet Academy also offers a 5-day programme where students will be helped to gain their Bronze award as well as take part in other related activities.
In this workshop we will cover theory of flight, aerodynamics, responsible and legal drone operation, basic drone flight planning, and an introduction to drone coding with the DJI Tello Edu. Students will finish the workshop ready to pass their CAA Flyer ID certifications and along the way will learn how to fly drones, the principles of flight behind drone flight, and the basics of coding drones to fly along pre-planned routes.
All student workshops are tailored to meet the needs of your pupils, and as such may result in us bring bespoke devices being brought to run the workshop.
Alongside those mentioned above, other enrichment activities include: Aeronautical Engineering, SEND Accessibility, LEGO Education, Healthy Eyes, Healthy Bodies, Build-a-Drone Workshop, and many more. If you have a specific theme not referenced above, we would be happy to design and build a bespoke activity that meets your needs.
As an organisation that is device agnostic in nature, we work with a wide variety of industry partners and support selected companies where we believe their technology can benefit teaching and learning. All the technology used within the student workshops are available to purchase, either through ourselves or we can put you in direct contact with the reseller.

"The STEM Learning Festival has shown the class the value of applying scientific and mathematical knowledge, combined with the use of technologies, in a real-life context. The class became more aware of the need to work as a team, and the benefits of effective teamwork were clearly highlighted. The experience has been superb, truly valuable learning."
