In the beginning…
This project began in the Summer Term of 2019 when the trust approached Tablet Academy to develop and implement with them a digital transformation strategy. At the beginning of this journey, all schools had a standard infrastructure with local servers and individual Office 365 tenancies used purely for email.
Standard Microsoft licensing agreements were in place and an external managed service provider (MSP) provided second level support. First level support being provided by technical infrastructure apprentices through an innovative apprenticeship programme from Primary Goal Ltd.
The Leadership team have recognised the potential of the cloud and, following a period of active research, identified Office 365 as the solution of choice for the Romero MAC primary schools.
At this stage, the vision is to reduce the number of on-site servers, up-skill staff, prepare students to flourish in a cloud-based environment, increase access to technology for all, and improve collaboration across all the MAC primary schools.
St John Fisher’s have been identified as the lead school to pilot new solutions and demonstrate the impact.
